Thailand limits visa-exempt entry to tourism stays of up to 30 days

Thailand has changed the conditions attached to visa-exempt entry. According to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office travel advice, from 15 September 2026 travellers entering Thailand under the visa exemption scheme can stay for up to 30 days for tourism only. Visa-exempt entry does not cover business travel, including conferences, meetings or other business activities. Visa-exempt entry is normally limited to two entries per calendar year; after two entries, a traveller may need to obtain a visa before travelling. Travellers who entered Thailand before 15 September 2026 are generally allowed to remain for the period granted on arrival.
